Basic Direct Care Requirements
Before having direct contact with a client, all job applicants must have completed the following requirements through the hiring and induction processes:
- Pass the criminal background check processed through the Department of Human Services before having direct contact with a client
- Be up-to-date on Health Screening and Immunizations including Tuberculosis
- Complete Orientation to Minnesota Home Care Statutes, including specific training on:
- Care of the Alzheimer’s
- Care of the Diabetic
- Fraud Waste and Abuse
- HIPAA Privacy
- Home Care Bill of Rights
- Infection Control
- Vulnerable Adult/Child Reporting
- OASIS documentation using electronic health software (licensed clinical personnel)
- Must have reliable transportation (Car or access to public transportation)
- Must be able to lift 50 to 70lbs
