Basic Direct Care Requirements

Before having direct contact with a client, all job applicants must have completed the following requirements through the hiring and induction processes:

• Pass the criminal background check processed through the Department of Human Services before having direct contact with a client
• Be up-to-date on Health Screening and Immunizations including Tuberculosis
• Complete Orientation to Minnesota Home Care Statutes, including specific training on:
  • Care of the Alzheimer’s
  • Care of the Diabetic
  • Fraud Waste and Abuse
  • HIPAA Privacy
  • Home Care Bill of Rights
  • Infection Control
  • Vulnerable Adult/Child Reporting
  • OASIS documentation using electronic health software (licensed clinical personnel)
• Must have reliable transportation (Car or access to public transportation)
• Must be able to lift 50 to 70lbs
